“Fatal Residential Fire in San Leandro: One Dead, 12 Displaced”
Fire crews are currently investigating a tragic residential fire that occurred in San Leandro on Sunday afternoon.
The Alameda County Fire Department reported that emergency responders arrived at the 14400 block of Washington Avenue at approximately 3:23 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of a man and a dog, both of whom perished in the blaze. The victim has been identified as 78-year-old Theodis Patterson by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
At the time of the fire, three individuals were present in the home, with two successfully escaping the dangerous situation. The fire caused significant damage to four apartments, displacing a total of 12 residents, according to the ACFD.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
