HOUSTON, Pa. (WPMG) – A Pennsylvania woman is behin bars after she reportedly coughed in a state troopers face and said “I have coronavirus and hope you have it now”.
Authorities said Jessica Harvey, 37, was originally stopped by police for public drunkenness. She now faces charges of terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
On Sunday, state police responded to a domestic dispute on Pike Street in Houston, PA.
Troopers discovered everyone left the house prior to the state police arriving on-scene. An off-duty officer found the suspect walking along Pike Street where she was bleeding. The off-duty officer then notified the state police of their location.
When the trooper arrived, her name was ran through NCIC where several active warrants were found. The trooper handcuffed her and started to place her in the back seat when she coughed in his face. She then looked him in the eyes and said, “I have the coronavirus and I hope you have it now.”
During the transport of the suspect, the suspect kept trying to cough on the trooper through the partition of the patrol car.
A search warrant was issued, and a mandatory coronavirus test was conducted on the suspect.
Bail was set at $25,000 for Harvey.
