A user submitted a photo to the WPMG news desk showing several large “tennis ball-size” chunks of ice that fell out of the sky.
In Butler County on Saturday, several users captured images that showsarge pieces of hail that fell, each are almost 3-inches in diameter.
According to the records provided by WPXI-TV, this reportedly has only happened three other times since 1950 for the WPXI viewing range in the month of March.
Beaver and Fayette counties are the only two other counties that reported hail 3-inches or large.
Reportedly, the largest piece of hail in the area was in Beaver County on July 26th, 1956. The hail was 4.5-inches in diameter.
