RADNOR TWP, Pa. (WPMG) – Animal Control officials in Radnor Township were stunned when they were called to Fenimore Park by a resident to deal with a massive fish found deceased on March 7th.
Animal Control fished out a dead Alligator Gar Fish, a native species to the Gulf of Mexico.
According to the Township Police Department’s Twitter Page, “Radnor Township Animal Control was notified of a rare discovery in the pond at Fenimore Park this week.”
There was no indication of how the fish came to be in the pond in the park but according to a report by NBC Philadelphia, the township wrote on Facebook, “Looking for a place to relocate your rare pet? Our parks are not the best option, but give us a call and we’ll provide you with some resources that may help!”
National Geographic states that the fish is not dangerous, despite bearing the name Alligator in it’s intimidating title, and that there are no known attacks against a person recorded.
