PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WPMG) – Cheron Shelton will soon be a free man after he was allegedly the suspect in a Wilkinsburg mass shooting back in March of 2016.
The courtroom was jam-packed full of people and reporters. Social media users have stated days prior that if Shelton was found not guilty, they would turn on the local police and cause harm to officers, and some have even motioned to riot.
The victims’ families started to get extremely emotional when they heard the verdict of “Not Guilty”.
The police started to target Shelton for the shooting, but they had also charged a 31-year-old man named Robert Thomas.
Shelton was facing a verdict for either first-degree murder or a reduced third-degree murder charge.
Shelton allegedly shot five people and an unborn child at a backyard barbecue.
