PITTSBURGH, PA. (WPMG) – A utility worker was injured in Bloomfield after an electrical pole struck a JW Didado Utility Bucket Truck.
The unnamed utility worker was left dangling from the bucket’s arm by his safety harness.
It happened at Liberty Avenue and South Matilda Street around 4:30 p.m.
Another utility pole down the street was left tilting sideways as well, as seen in a tweet from Allegheny County.
The utility pole snapped toward the middle causing damage to the truck and sending the damaged arm bucket down as well. The utility worker was saved from serious injury by his safety harness.
Pittsburgh Public Safety says the injury is described as “very minor” to his rib cage.
A co-worker in a nearby truck responded to rescue the dangling utility worker.
